Why Virginia Protective Covers Exist

Every cover we deliver has a single purpose: to protect your outdoor investment, regardless of the weather. We don't sell thin films, but thick layers of Oxford polyester with a PU membrane, double thermo-sealed seams, and fastening systems that don't give way at the first storm.

Material matters, not promises We only use 600D–900D Oxford polyester with PU coating. Each cover is tested for waterproofness at a water column of over 2000 mm and certified UV protection. We don't cut density to come out cheaper.

Fastening that holds, not disposable elastic Our adjustable drawstrings, buckle straps, and velcro bands are sized for 80 km/h wind. The cover doesn't fly off, doesn't pool water, and doesn't scratch your car's paint.

Simple cleaning, not a weekend operation After the winter season, the car tarp is cleaned in three steps: rinse with a hose to remove dust and salt, hand wash with lukewarm water and mild soap (no bleach), dry in the shade before storage. No washing machine, no harsh chemicals.

Real effect, not packaging Our customers no longer replace garden furniture after two years, no longer repair bodywork after hail, and no longer throw away rusty grills. A single well-chosen cover eliminates the hidden costs of neglect.

About Us

Virginia Protective Covers – durable outdoor protection

We work exclusively with waterproof Oxford polyester tarpaulins and covers, designed for real winter conditions, hail, and strong sun. No insurance, no office politeness – just dense textile material, heat-sealed seams, and fastening systems that don't give way at the first storm.
Material

Oxford polyester with PU coating

We use fabrics from 420D to 900D, all with an inner polyurethane coating. Water does not penetrate, and the material remains flexible down to -15°C. The outer layer has UV protection – it doesn't crack after a summer season.

Textile density matters more than any brand. We put the weight on the label.
Fastening

Adjustable drawstring and elastic straps

Each cover has a fastening system with a drawstring in the hem, plus velcro strips or buckles at the corners. The car cover fastens under the vehicle with elastic straps – it won't fly off at 70 km/h. Furniture covers have a tightening cord that locks into a plastic clip.

We tested the fastening in 90 km/h wind. The cover stayed in place. The grill fell over.
Maintenance

Proper cleaning after winter

To keep the car cover in good condition: 1) Shake off snow and dry dust before it melts. 2) Wash with cold water and mild soap, no bleach – use a soft brush, not a wire brush. 3) Dry in the shade, laid flat, without folding it while wet. Do not put it in the washing machine.

A well-maintained tarpaulin lasts 5-7 years. One washed with harsh detergent cracks in the second season.

Our Story

From a small workshop to the most appreciated manufacturer of tarpaulins and protective covers in Romania. We started with a single industrial sewing machine and the conviction that a well-chosen textile material can save outdoor goods from degradation.

2017

Founding and the first prototype

Anuța Ardeleanu, a textile engineer, sewed the first car tarpaulin from Oxford 600D polyester in a garage in P-ța Mircea cel Bătrân. After three months of testing in real hailstorm conditions, she patented the adjustable cord fastening system that became the company standard.

2019

Expanding the product range

We launched the garden furniture cover with PU layer and UV protection, followed by the grill cover with integrated ventilation. Sales increased by 340% compared to the previous year, and the team grew to 12 people.

2021

Material certification and partnerships

We obtained OEKO-TEX certification for all textile materials and opened a logistics warehouse in Bucharest. We signed contracts with 45 dealers across the country and delivered the first orders to Hungary and Bulgaria.

2023

Launch of the online store virginiacoverage.com

We invested in an e-commerce platform that allows configuring covers according to the exact dimensions of the car or furniture. In the first 6 months, online orders accounted for 60% of total sales.

2025

Innovation in hail protection

We launched the anti-hail car tarpaulin made of Oxford 900D polyester with soft lining, capable of absorbing the impact of stones up to 3 cm in diameter. The fastening system with elastic straps and buckles was tested in wind conditions of 80 km/h.

Each cover is individually tested before delivery. Returns are under 2% due to the consistent quality of materials and double thermo-sealed seams.

The team that protects your belongings

At Virginia Protective Covers, every cover and tarpaulin is designed by people who know technical textiles in depth. Our team in Romania combines experience in Oxford polyesters with PU coating, UV testing, and wind-resistant fastening systems. We don't just sell covers – we offer verified solutions for garden furniture, cars, and grills.

Each team member brings specific expertise: from choosing the fabric density to the correct installation of the tie-down cords. And when it comes to maintenance, we have clear answers – for example, for cleaning the car tarpaulin after winter: 1) shake the tarpaulin well to remove dust and dry debris; 2) wash it with lukewarm water and a neutral soap, without bleach; 3) let it dry completely in the shade, then fold and store it in a dry place.

Textile materials specialist

Anuța Ardeleanu

Anuța personally selects each piece of Oxford polyester, checking the density (600D, 900D) and the quality of the PU layer. She has tested over 200 fabric samples under simulated rain and hail conditions to guarantee that the cover will not tear after the first season.

Fastening systems engineer

Lucian Lupu

Lucian designs the adjustable cords and elastic buckles that secure the tarpaulin to the car or furniture. He developed a three-point anchoring system that reduces wind flapping by 40% compared to standard solutions. Each strap is tested for traction up to 50 kg.

Production coordinator

Anatolie Paduraru

Anatolie oversees the double thermo-welded seams and the application of the hydrophobic finish on each cover. He reduced production time by 15% without compromising waterproofness – a balance between speed and durability that we verify weekly through impermeability tests.

UV protection and maintenance consultant

dr. Mugur Ardeleanu

A doctor in materials science, Mugur analyzes the resistance of covers to UV radiation and recommends optimal cleaning intervals. He developed our care guide: wash with lukewarm water, neutral soap, dry in the shade – simple steps that extend the life of the tarpaulin by up to 3 seasons.
